'Project X' was the name Hamilton gave to their electric watch project. This part of the web site focuses on the content of a Hamilton information pack that was circultated to jewelers in January 1957 in preparation for the launch of the world's first electric watch in February 1957. On this introductory page, I've shown the main cover (outside and inside) of the pack plus an loose yellow insert that indicates that the predicted demand was going to outstrip available supply. You'll also notice that the first two electric watch models produced, the Van Horn and Titan, were very traditional in their styling; the Richard Arbib-designed electrics appeared a few months later. The pack was made up of the Announcement, the Official Press Release and a letter from the then Hamilton President, Art Sinkler. You can see these other artifacts by following the links on the left hand side.
