Elgin started it all back in 1946! Rumours that Elgin were developing an electric watch prompted Hamilton into action and the rest is history. Elgin's own electric watch, the 722 and 725, didn't appear until 1962. It was a two battery, fixed coil movement. The Elgins below are much later: the fist gold coloured one house the West German Junghans 600 fixed coil movement while the second stainless steel one has an ESA Dynotron 9157 movement.
